Tuesday 26th

There is a handy little parade of shops about five minutes walk away from me; a greengrocers, a delicatessen, one or two others.   There's also a pretty little pub which was advertising its real ales outside, Roy would love that.   I might just venture in sometime, order a shandy, sip it outside on a bench in the sunshine and remember him.

I was saying yesterday I was disappointed with the swimming pool in Summertown, but Tim has directed me to another not far away, and looking at the website I am impressed, it has all sorts of facilities in addition to a swimming pool, so I will go and have a look at that.  It's on my 'to do' list for tomorrow.   I'll let you know.

Tim stopped by and visited this evening for a little while, so that was very nice.

I've caught snatches of news of the Democratic Convention, where Hillary Clinton was confirmed as the Democratic nominee.   Personally, I find her intensely irritating so I am glad to be spared all the tv coverage of her. We'll have some coverage but not the hours and hours I'd get if I were over there.

And as I have also said before - it's my belief that when Obama leaves office and no longer has her back I think the judicial system will move in on her.    But as I've also said before, I am the only one who thinks so.    So just wait for all the "I-told-you-so" e-mails".

I have been told that she didn't do anything criminal, she was just 'very careless'.    I don't understand why even a very "careless" President should be acceptable.   I don't think we'd want a very careless Prime Minister.   Heaven knows what they might forget to do, or mistakes they might make.

Well that is my two cents worth on the American political scene.
