Well I found a swimming pool and it's very nice. This is the website if anyone is interested https://www.virginactive.co.uk. I was taken round on a conducted tour then I signed up. Next month is free and I start paying in September.
It's not just a swimming pool, there are all sorts of exercise facilities there, as well as a café serving healthy meals, and spa, massage and beauty treatments.
I thought at first the swimming pool area was rather dark, but perhaps it is no darker than I remember most British swimming pools to be. I'd just got used to going to one with large picture windows. And there was a hot Jacuzzi in the corner. O Joy, O Rapture.
It is not far away, I actually walked there and back because I wasn't really sure where it was, but I am not thinking of making that a regular practice otherwise I might be too tired to swim when I get there.
So I start tomorrow.
