Tuesday 5th December

I have done all my Christmas shopping and didn't even get out of bed.   How WONDERFUL is that,  I thought of my mother who used to trail all round the shops for hours buying everything on our wish lists, then returning home exhausted.    How she would have loved internet wish lists - and all those who knew her would also say she would have truly embraced the computer age, she would have had goodness knows how many Facebook friends and taken great interest in them.   I don't post on Facebook myself but I am interested in all that my friends in Oklahoma are doing so scroll through it once or twice a month.

I haven't been out lately, I'm nervous of slipping on the wet leaves on the pavement.  I haven't even been watching television with all its non stop coverage of Brexit and the Irish Border, yawn, yawn.

Wednesday.
I think it is time I wrapped this up.   Still haven't been out, but might venture out tomorrow if it is dry because there is some Arctic weather on the way, heading straight for us.

Had e-mail this evening from a St Andrew's friend to say she would pick me up next week for the Christmas lunch at a nearby hotel.   People are so KIND..

All the online shopping I did arrived the next day and is sitting in a corner of the living room waiting to be ensconced (where do I get these words from) in  some colourful wrapping paper .

Gradually moving towards Christmas.   Tim and family are all going to China.   Jeremy has booked a table at a restaurant in Oxford for Christmas Day, so am looking forward to that.   I am hoping the weather will be favourable for me getting to the Christmas services, in particular the midnight Communion on Christmas Eve.   That might be pushing my luck a bit, we'll see.
