I came to the conclusion today that autumn is over and winter is now going to set in. The leaves have all fallen from the trees. For some time I have been kicking my way through them to the bus stop, or - if they were wet - picking my way very carefully, nervous that I might slip, so it was with some relief that I saw them being swept up and bagged this morning.
This evening I went to the house/Bible study group I go to fortnightly, it is always preceded by a meal, and I think it is wonderful of our host to go to that trouble fortnightly for a dozen of us. The friend who picks me up said that at the end of the session everyone gives a financial contribution.
Now back home I have settled down to watch the Election Results coming in with the white wine and nibbles.
