Who has been watching Donald Trump? He has been on all the news broadcasts with his new best friend, Nigel Farage, announcing that Farage is to be the UK ambassador to the United States. I think by now he will have received the memo from his advisers to the effect that ambassadors are appointed by their governments, not handpicked by the President. If I were American I think I might be a little concerned at Trump's obvious ignorance of the job description. I think Theresa May gave him very short shrift, in fact she gave him no shrift at all, telling him in no uncertain terms that there wasn't a vacancy.
But just for a little while Farage was giddy with excitement. I expect you have also seen the photograph of these two best buddies beaming for the Press, I don't think I have ever seen two politicians looking so happy and excited.
I think Trump has amended his agenda of what is going to happen on his first day in office. There hasn't been any mention just lately of walls along the southern border. Neither has there been any more mention of crooked, lying Hilary and Federal Prosecutors.
I read Trump's wife isn't moving to Washington. She is staying in Manhattan with their son because she doesn't want him to change schools.
Back to the mundane. I realised with some horror, quite late in the afternoon, that I had totally forgotten about the Mother and Toddlers Group this morning, I e-mailed the leader with my apologies and will go along in the morning to reiterate them. This evening I went to the house group I have recently joined, which is preceded by a meal.
Now I think it is time I shut my eyes.
