Hillary Clinton's e-mails et al.

I hope this isn't boring you, my apologies if it is, but I just find American politics fascinating, better than any reality tv show.   Apparently another 650,000 e-mails have surfaced, prompting the gleeful Donald Trump to wonder just how many e-mails can anyone send - "they must be typing, typing, all day long" - which was precisely my thought when I read it.

These e-mails were found on the laptops of Hilary Clinton's aide, Huma Abedin and her husband, Congressman Anthony Weiner.

The Senate Democrat leader has said this violates the 'Hatch Act' which prohibits government officials from using  their position to influence an election.   One just wonders how these recurring scandals are going to influence the election, if at all.

And I remember Congressman Anthony Weiner.   It must be at least a year ago, if not more, he was taking nude photographs of himself, e-mailing them to goodness knows who, which had Fox News at least, all agog.     This isn't just a common-or-garden scumbag, this is a Congressman!!!!   How could he be so STUPID.    Why, Why, throw away a career like that???

I would like to make clear, I am not being holier than thou here, we have our political sex scandals here too.

This is early Monday morning.  Instead of sleeping I have spent the night quietly developing a cold, coughing,  sneezing, blowing my nose.    I took a couple of sleeping tablets which had no effect at all, I just hope I will go off to sleep soon.   

ps  I know precisely when I caught this cold.  I was walking along the road in Summertown and a crowd of youths were coming toward me in the opposite direction, and one of them stopped - and without any attempt to cover his face and mouth - made several very loud sneezes, one could almost see the germs descending on me.
