Beginning to find my feet but not out and about on my own yet. This has been a lovely, warm, sunny day here. I think I read somewhere the hottest in the year so far. 26 degrees, whatever that is.
I went with Tim to the 8 o'clock service at his church, St Andrews, Oxford (just tried to get a link you could click on, but can't manage it). Seems a friendly, welcoming church - only criticism is that the sermon was read out from a prepared script, which is anathema to me, I prefer it delivered from the nave and sounding heartfelt.
Congregating over tea and buns a parishioner looked at me and exclaimed "I know you!!!" Thinks, "I don't think so" (I've never lived in Oxford) But he was a former parish priest from two decades or more ago, when I lived in Seaford before moving to Denton, then the US. How extraordinary is that, the fact that I was so immediately recognised, and obviously memorable.
Tim took me for a little ride around this afternoon - all the cherry and apple blossom is out, and there is so much of it, it is really lovely.
This evening we went out to dinner with Marie's parents, then had a pleasant walk in University Park (it gets dark a lot later here),
I remembered that it is Mother's Day today over there (ours is the 4th in Lent) so hope all mothers reading this had a good day.
