I have had a misadventure, banged my toes very badly and broken one of them - running around barefooted which I have been told all my life I shouldn't do, and walking is intensely painful. Just sitting, not moving my foot is also painful. I don't remember when I have last been in this much pain.
Marie took me to the doctor's who taped the small toes together and gave me a prescription for the pain, which isn't really having any effect on it. But I did reflect happily on the fact that seeing the doctor, and getting a prescription wasn't going to make a dent in my monthly budget. I would say it was free except that I have paid into it all my working life.
There is a group at the church, SALT, (St Andrews Ladies Together) and they are having a little outing tomorrow to the Botanical Gardens, and I'd signed up for it, but that is not going to happen. SIGH. Someone called round this evening to confirm it, which I thought was nice.
