I had written quite a bit about Princess Diana and the fact that this is the 20th anniversary of her death and there has been quite a bit of television coverage of it. I don't know what happened but somehow I lost most of it, and can't seem to retrieve it, so was left with only the final three paragraphs.
I mentioned the fact that Prince Charles showed no inclination to get married and secure the future of the monarchy, so a candidate - Lady Diana Spencer - was chosen for him, and it was all deemed to be - at least by the general public - as 'fairy tale'. But that wasn't fairy tale, it was expediency. Camilla was always the only person he ever wanted.

And this was where I got down to the final three paragraphs.
She seemed to be always in and out of love - James Hewitt, James Gilbey, Will Carling, Oliver Hoare and finally, the eminent heart surgeon Hasnat Khan. I know she was with Dodi Al Fayed when she died, but I don't think she ever professed to love him, she was just holidaying with him.
From what I have read she seemed very keen on Hasnat Khan, she even visited his family in Pakistan, but he is a very private and quiet person who could - or would not - have adjusted to her high profile position as mother of the heir to the throne, and somewhat reluctantly I gather, he ended their relationship.
The princes candid interviews over Diana, mental health and personal topics have lead the Queen to become irritated at the management of the junior household. She feels that her grandsons William and Harry have been poorly advised and exposed themselves to criticism. Personally I think they are dragging the monarchy into the 21st century and not before time.
Thanks for that information. Diana was rather esteemed on this side of the pond as well.
