Woke up this morning in so much pain I just didn't know what to do with myself. After writhing about for a while I contacted dearest Tim who took me to hospital. I think we got there about 10 o'clock and got home at 7.00. I'd heard about these long NHS waits but I hadn't thought they were that bad. It is alright for me with nothing better to do, but I felt very bad for Tim's sake wasting all that time.
I have to say though that apart from the waiting time it is certainly - as a University Hospital - a centre of excellence.
I thought I 'just' had a broken rib but they gave me a CT Scan and I have two broken ribs and stones in both kidneys (which aren't causing a problem at the moment).
So that's my tale of woe...........but have to say I recognise I am very blessed with my dear patient son, and the fact that excellent health care is available to me, in spite of the wait
I am glad you have the diagnosis and can begin to heal. I trust those kidney stones won't become too problematic. I can understand frustration with the wait, but suspect it is a small price to pay to ensure health care for all. Here we have the waits, ridiculous costs, and limited coverages.
