Bouncing Back

Thanks to my dear son Tim taking me hither and yon to doctors and hospitals I am now feeling a lot better.  It was a wonderful surprise too when Jeremy from Oxted in Surrey turned up to visit on Saturday, and Tim appeared with battered cod and chips for supper.   How I used to dream of cod and chips from the North Sea when I was in Shawnee.   I don't want to tread on anyone's toes, cause any offence, but I won't worry if I never eat another tilapia from the Gulf of Mexico.   Jeremy stayed over Saturday night, camping down on my lounge floor and went home after some lunch in Summertown.

I wrote about the long, long wait Tim and I had at the JR hospital.   We were exegeting the Book of Habakukk (this is Oxford after all) in preparation for my next house group.   And we didn't even need a Bible, everything nowadays seems to be on smart phones.

The results of my medical attention have shown  stones in both kidneys, and someone from my doctor's office this morning has just rung with an appointment about them at the end of May.  They are not causing a problem at the moment.   And my broken ribs seem to be healing alright.   I've also received some sound dietary advice from my daughter in law who is a nutritionist.  So I am off to Summertown this morning to buy some fresh greens with lots of folic acid, and I will ditch the pork crackling joint in my Daewoo oven.

ps Just seen an internet headline that Donald Trump is in a downward spiral - even I, the foreign bystander here, always knew he was going to crash and burn.  The question was always "when".
