So what have I been up to? The answer is "not a lot" because I'm still waiting for my bus pass. But with the arrival of this aforementioned bus pass the world - as they say - will be my oyster.
I could take myself off to the Hebridean or Shetland Islands. Or more likely, because they are warmer, the Isles of Scilly. I guess I'd have to pay the ferry charges though, so it is really not terribly likely even if I camped out, and I can't see myself doing that.
I could write a book though!!!! "Round Britain on a Bus Pass". Travel books don't have to be the preserve of the middle aged walking the Appalachian Trail.

But back in the real world, I went to a quiz at the church on Friday. It was the final event in the two week Holiday at Home programme, organised to keep church members in touch because not a lot goes on in August. It was organised in teams, the people round each table collaborating on the answers, and I actually contributed some answers.
And we had tea. Scones piled up with jam and cream. hmm, hmm, hmm. How wonderful is that, and so English.
Yesterday, Saturday, Tim picked me up and I had a meal with them and sat around chatting, which was very nice.
And this morning, Sunday, I went to church. I might go back at 6 if the headache I've got doesn't get too bad.
