We had a referendum, which cost millions, asking the British public if they wanted to join the European Union, now we are spending millions - if not billions - more, deciding if it was a good idea or not.
On a personal level I am not feeling too bright, so this is not going to be long. I seem to have picked up a cough and cold, and it is really uncomfortable - and hurts my chest - when I cough.
Last night Tim and Marie's niece, Lisa, helped me move into a flat they've got in Oxford, which is lovely, but I know it is just a temporary arrangement until Social Services provides me somewhere in an assisted living place.
As I understand it - assisted living here is flats with a warden on hand in case of emergency. Assisted living in the States is somewhere like Primrose Retirement home in Shawnee, where residents have a little apartment but they can opt to eat together in a dining room; have a theatre where they can recline in comfortable armchairs; enjoy all sorts of events like an ice cream social in an ice cream bar, and generally live the life of Riley. But obviously, it is seriously expensive to live in such a place.
I hope tomorrow I am coughing less, and feeling better.
Do get well soon!
