Managing to deal with the broken wrist, but I'm longing for the day I can plunge my hands into hot, soapy washing up water. The headache - or rather the pain at the base of my skull, I am not sure what it is - was so bad yesterday I just didn't know what to do with myself, and after writhing about I got a taxi to the JR hospital, The doctor there gave me some tablets which have, so far, been effective in relieving the pain, so I'm hoping for the best that it won't come back.
There are usually taxis parked in the road outside, but they have to be called for, ie a telephone call to their central office. One is not supposed to present oneself at the passenger window and tearfully ask if he can take me to the JR, but the driver was compassionate and didn't tell me about the rules until we got there. I wondered if this was just in Oxford or if it is the general practice everywhere.
It is very bright and sunny out today so I ventured into Summertown this morning, I'm afraid of losing my confidence at getting out and about. I went for a haircut but they couldn't do it, so I'm going back tomorrow.
I'm going to Jeremy's in Oxted on Friday but that will be an easy journey, I get on the bus in Oxford and he will meet me when I step off it in London. Am so looking forward to it.
